How e-file works:

E-file works in conjunction with the Internal Revenue Service's (IRS) Electronic Filing System. Taxpayers can e-file from a computer, or by using a tax preparer who is an approved Electronic Return Originator like TaxExcise. The return is prepared by the tax payer by keying in all the required data and it is transmitted to the IRS for processing. When the return is accepted, an acknowledgment (electronic confirmation) is sent from the IRS. E-filing is Simple, Safe and Secured, less time consuming and you have all your data available in digital. E-file is possible anytime from anywhere from everything (Computer, Tablet or Smart Phone).
